Vintage 1966 Marshall JTM45 MKII Plexi Valve Amplifier Head
Vintage 1966 Marshall JTM45 MKII Plexi Valve Amplifier Head
This is a wonderful JTM45 that I was recently contacted about. The daughter of the original owner was clearing out the loft of her father, and found this tucked away where it had been for many decades unused. This is one of those that has not been circulated and comes direct from the original owner. It now works great after getting it looked at by my technician. It came with an original pair of GEC KT66 valves, a Mullard rectifier, and 2x original ECC83 with one replacement.
This is the second example I’ve had in in the last few months that has had the earlier RS output transformer inside. Again, the catch with this is that the transformer is EARLIER than the amplifier, and dates from roughly 1964 as an RS output used on the earlier Marshall amplifiers. Ever so strange, but the second in a few months that I've seen like this. The back panel is missing and couldn't be found in the loft. There are a few small scuffs and scrapes to the tolex, but nothing significant. There is one slight bend in the plexi panel as you can see, and the Marshall logo is missing. Otherwise, it really is a wonderful setup, extremely rare indeed. Please have a close look at the high resolution photographs below, as these form part of my description.
