Vintage 1965 Kitchen Marshall 18w 20w PA Valve Amplifier The First

Well, having chatted with a few Marshall guru’s, I believe I’ve found the first ever Kitchen Marshall amplifier.

Kitchen’s was a large music store in Leeds with a side business fitting out clubs with PA systems. Jim Marshall agreed to produce the gear for them, but Kitchen’s insisted their name was on the gear, hence - Kitchen-Marshall.

This apparently started in 1966, but a few conversations have led us to believe it was more like 1965. This one is most definitely 1965, with mustard caps dating to late 1964. It’s most definitely of Marshall build, and that handwriting could even be original too!

Could this be the ‘trial’ that Jim Marshall sent Kitchen’s? Also, this is the earliest 18w Marshall I’ve seen, could it even be a test for the 18w?! Who knows!

Either way, a truly stunning and historical Marshall amplifier. You’ll DEFINITELY not see another!
