Product Details
Rare late ‘60s Impact 60 Watt Reverb & Trem amplifier from the pre-Dallas period together with a matching 2x12” speaker cabinet. How often are you going to find a combination like this and in this condition? Obviously, being 50+ years old they both show some signs of their age with minor tears in the rexine, especially on the corners, but are in very good overall condition. Please study the pics.
The amp head has two channels, each with two inputs, Volume, Treble and Bass controls with Tremelo Speed and Depth and Reverb on the second channel. Partridge transformers are fitted and the amp delivers something in Hiwatt tonal territory with a nice full, fat sound. Two JJ EL34s are fitted in the power section with a selection of Mullards in the pre-amp. The amp has been serviced so the tremolo and original reverb tank are working perfectly and do a great surf sound when combined. The knobs and handle are original but the back panel is a new replacement.
The cab is of slightly later date than the amp being from the Dallas era. It has been fitted with a great pair of Goodmans 12PG speakers to handle 100 watts with a 16 ohm impedance. Original early Impact 2x12s were fitted with Audiom 61s with only a 40 watt total handling so with these later Audioms there’s less chance of blowing them at full blast. Plastic Rean handles are fitted in the sides and it has ply skids on the bottom. The original Impact logo still shows signs of the pink paint job some punk gave it many years ago and he also left a nice paint ring on the top of the cab!
