Very Cool "Players Grade" 1972 Black (Refinish) Fender USA Jazz Bass in Very Good Condition!

This 72 Jazz was originally Sunburst. This bass has been known to us since around 1979. We have seen it perform many times across South Wales over the years, and have had the pleasure of working on it in our workshop.

It was re-finished in the late 80s’ by local luthier Dave Dearnley in Black nitro and it has aged naturally over the decades.

The Cosmetic condition is very good, honest play wear, just the way we like to see them - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear.

Overall the bass has a very cool look, with an authentic vintage vibe & beautiful patina.

The neck pickup has been professionally re-wound and it sounds killer (Neck - 7.78ohm / Bridge - 7.14ohm). The pots have been changed in the past and the electronics function perfectly,

Neck: Rounded, slender profile maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side dots. Chocolate-figured rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl block inlays looks great. Frets are also in great shape with hardly any wear, they are nicely polished and have plenty of life left in them,

Weighs 9.15lb

Serial number: 366537

FENDER open-gear nickel tuners and round string tree. 1 1/2" nut width; 34" scale length. The neck is pretty straight & truss rod functions. It plays well and sounds amazing,

Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in black. Unoriginal top-loading bridge with four adjustable "barrel" saddles. Original Chrome bridge cover, aged and lovely,

Included is a period vintage black Tolex case, doing its job and looking good,

As is standard practice with any new arrival in store, this very cool neck has been through the trusted hands of our team in our onsite workshop to ensure it is in tip-top shape for its new home and owner!
