Fender Custom Shop 50s Stratocaster NOS MASTERBUILT by Stephen Stern in 2008. This is one of very few Fenders personally built by the company's Senior Master Builder, Stephen Stern, who Fender employed as its most senior chief expert on complex builds across its entire portfolio of owned brands. Stern specifically was Fender's archtop builder and the head of the Gretsch Custom Shop. Stern famously built Fender's 30th Anniversary Classic Rocker Archtop as seen at NAMM 2017. A solidbody Stratocaster would be a walk in e park for Stern, so when given the opportunity, he went all out on the very best woods and materials we have ever seen on a Fender Strat. We clocked this guitar instantly out of a collection of over 500 guitars on display. It is without any exaggeration the absolute nicest Stratocaster we have ever seen or played.
