This is a Blankenship Fat Boy with "Sour Cream" hand-wired head and 212 Pine cabinet loaded with Celestion Vintage 30 drivers. 35 watts and the cab is 8 Ohms.
Roy Blankenship, a collector of vintage valve amplifiers hand made these fine amps in Huston Texas and they are a rare sight in the UK,
Its in great shape, with just a few light scuffs and signs of use.
Many interesting features, including a six-position presence switch, that gives the player bright to dark options, operating a bit like a varitone, although Im sure someone will correct me on this detail. All I know is it works and is useful to calm down certain pickup options or perhaps bring your guitar up in the mix when needed. Two inputs and a nice big spring Reverb unit.
It has the ability to switch between 6l6 and 6V6 power tubes, apparently without the need to re-bias. This example has a pair of 6L6 power tubes.
Tonally its between a Blackface and a Tweed, which is a nice place to be. Glassy warm clean to a spanking cranked tone. As one would expect its a great unit for your pedals.
A very interesting and well-engineered unit. Our workshop has given it a thorough inspection and it has a clean bill of health, now ready for a new home.
We are an appointment-only, store. All instruments are handled by Motomusic employees only.
We are always happy to consider quality part exchange instruments here.
We ship internationally, please ask for a quote,
