Description
1979 Gibson Les Paul Standard Tobacco Burst guitar in stunning condition with all original hang tags and sales receipt! The guitar has had only one owner from new, who was a saxophonist and barely played this guitar over the past 44 years he has owned it. A box of his sax reeds are even included in the case! The original sales receipt from UK Gibson dealer "Duck, Son & Pinker, LTD" of Bath, England shows this 1979 Les Paul was sold new for the princely sum of £400 ($500) on March 17th 1980... St. Patrick's Day! Even more interesting is the filled out warranty questionnaire with a returned envelope from America and a stamp from Gibson Vice President Jim Whitehill, who ran Gibson during the Norlin era because the brand did not have a President. The guitar continued to live in Bath, England for its entire life until we acquired it from its original owner to make available for sale here.

This is simply the best and most complete 70s Gibson Les Paul we have ever been able to find. The complete set of hang tags and documents is incredible. The original hard case has all of its latches present and functioning properly. The inlays have not yellowed and look stunning. Only minor marks and signs of play over 44 years of life. If you want the very best, you are looking at it.
